Battery - Type
The two main types of battery found in mobile phones today are -
* Nickel Hydride (NiMH) and
* Lithium Ion (Li-Ion).
Li-Ion offers a greater reliability as it is a newer technology, but some NiMH batteries can have better capacity relative to their size.

Battery - Talktime
Battery Talktime refers to the amount of time the handset will last if a conversation is continually held on it.
Important factor if you use your phone a lot or if you are not able to charge the phone on a regular basis.

Bluetooth
Bluetooth is a technology which allows wireless connectivity between devices.
It's superior to infrared as the devices do not have to be lined up for a connection to be made, and since Bluetooth is a universal language, different appliances can communicate. For example, a Bluetooth-enabled phone will be able to connect to a Bluetooth-enabled computer.

A large, heavy, and usually obsolete wireless mobile phone or a mobile phone of a solid form factor.

Cellular network
A cellular network is a radio network made up of a number of radio cells (or just cells) each served by a fixed transmitter, known as a cell site or base station. These cells are used to cover different areas in order to provide radio coverage over a wider area than the area of one cell. Cellular networks are inherently asymmetric with a set of fixed main transceivers each serving a cell and a set of distributed (generally, but not always, mobile) transceivers which provide services to the network's users.

A mobile phone of a form factor resembling the shell which also open up in the same way.

Cell phone, cellular phone, or cell is used currently in the United States and Canada to refer to mobile phones.
Technically it applies only to mobile phones which use a cellular network.

Display Size is the width and height of the screen in pixels. It is an indication of the amount of pixels that can be accomodated on the screen.

Data Speed refers to the amount of data that can be transmitted per second.

Dual-band
Phones that can switch between two different bands of frequencies.
In Europe Dual-band usually means GSM900/GSM1800 capable phone, while in USA it might mean GSM850/GSM1900 or combination of two other bands.

GPRS
General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) is a mobile data service available to users of GSM mobile phones.
It is a technology between the second (2G) and third (3G) generations of mobile telephony. It provides moderate speed data transfer, by using unused TDMA channels in the GSM network.

Liquid Crystal Display. LCD displays utilise two sheets of polarising material with a liquid crystal solution between them. An electric current passed through the liquid causes the crystals to align so that light cannot pass through them.

Colour LCDs come in many types. STN, TFT, and TFD are several common technologies used.

MP3 stands for MPEG layer 3 audio, MPEG being a form of compression used in both video and audio, so why compress why not just capture digitally, well its all down to size, in this case size of captured files a WAV file (the standard for CD) produces massive files which even with the event of broadband connections are just too big, for example a 1 minute file equates to 10mb of storage.

Super Twisted Nematic. A type of LCD display technology. STN uses less power and is less costly than TFT technology, but at the expense of image quality and response time.

WAP phones don't display graphics and the sites only offer text. Typically this is menus and scrollable lists form which you choose an option and an information list will be displayed.
WAP Phone uses can include sending and receiving email, accessing news, weather, schedules, financial data and the like; all in a mobile environment (like in the middle of a field) - an advantage the PC can never truly emulate.
